how to buy NEWTON
Can I buy direct?
NEWTON Canadian Made Solid Wood Furniture is sold in fine retail stores which would be happy to discuss selection styles and wood species. Because we strive for superior customer service and satisfaction we do not offer direct sales. We find that working through our dealer/partners is the avenue through which this can be best achieved.

Why should I purchase from a local retailer as opposed to a retailer outside my area?
By purchasing furniture through a retailer in your local area you will have the advantage of services before, during, and after the purchase of your furniture. Some of these services include design and options advice, setup, and refinishing. The personal service aspect of the furniture buying experience is very important. Buying furniture from a retailer in your local area also supports your area's economy. Finally, in most cases, you are more familiar with the reputation, services, and reliability of your local dealer as opposed to dealers outside your area.

Where can I get price quotes?
NEWTON Canadian Made Solid Wood Furniture is available exclusively through fine furniture stores who will be happy to answer any questions you may have, including pricing and shopping information. Please note that finish types will vary by retailers as some of our retailers finish the furniture in their in-house finishing shops.

Furniture Care.

To clean wood furniture use water and mild detergent such as Murphy’s oil soap and wipe dry with a soft cloth.
Occasionally apply a good quality furniture polish. Please see www.tradesecret.ca for the highest quality furniture polish. On their website they have a store locator where their product is available.

Clean up spills immediately with a blotting motion rather then with a wiping motion.

Avoid placing any furniture in direct sunlight or over heat registers which can cause fading, drying and cracking. Avoid changes in humidity too high or to low can cause wood to warp or the glue used in construction to loosen.

During winter months use a humidifier in your home to maintain humidity levels at 50%
relative humidity. During summer months use a dehumidifier or air conditioner to maintain
humidity levels no higher then 50% relative humidity.

Do not use plastic or rubber items on wood finishes their ingredients will react with those of the finish.

THE NATURE OF SOLID WOOD.

Solid wood has a natural variation in color and grain pattern that will not be concealed by
finishing materials , thus an exact color or grain match is not guaranteed. Each piece of
furniture is therefore unique and will reflect its own character and color.

Solid wood is affected by humidity and will shrink or swell according to humidity levels. These changes will affect rail and style panels to show white lines in the winter months, if humidity levels are not kept at approximately 50% relative humidity. This is not a defect but reflects the nature of solid wood.
